11TH MEMBERSHIP

At present, 14,940 members who possess exceptionally strong aspirations for unification represent their regional areas and professions in the ACDPU.

A commissioned member of the ACDPU must exhibit strong desire for democratic and peaceful unification and must represent his/her regional and professional background.

The 11th Term of the ACDPU has been comprised of 14,940 members.
The membership consists of 4,121 Regional Representatives who have accepted nomination for ACDPU membership among local legislators 8,522 Professional Representatives who have been recommended from 765 professional societies, and 2,293 Overseas Representatives who live in 67 foreign countries.
Membership of the 11th term of the ACDPU lasts till June 30th, 2005.

Meanwhile, ACDPU Law specifies the qualifications for membership.The qualifications for ACDPU membership (ACDPU Law, Article 10) include: .

Local legislators of Seoul metropolitan city, metropolitan areas, provinces, districts, cities, and counties, who are elected by the trust of their constituents according to the Local Autonomous Law.

Those who are capable of communicating the unification will of their communities inside and outside Korea, such as community leaders of Seoul Metropolitan  City,metropolitan areas, provinces, districts, cities and counties and   representatives of the five Northern   provinces  and overseas Koreans.

Leaders of political parties recommended by their party leaders.

Representatives and key members of major social and professional organizations who can speak for the national unification will.

Any other leaders of society who have contributed or can contribute to the unification effort with firm  determination for democratic and peaceful unification.
